In my neck of the woods, we are expecting 12 inches of snow today. I love it when I get a day like this. You really can’t spend time outside so it’s perfect for doing any kind of artwork.
Today I will move on in the book with the next image. Dawson meets Fielder, chapter 2. In this chapter Dawson and Avery meet Fielder while following along the path and are asked to help him and Spinderella fix the Queen Anne’s Lace that was mysteriously ripped.
Here is the preliminary sketch of what I had in mind. I’m not too concerned about shapes at this point as I’ll correct and change things as I go. I prefer to work digitally rather than pencil and paper so I vaguely draw what I want, then I scan and trace the image into Photoshop. I’m going to push myself a little bit more in this image by adding perspective lines. I was watching a video online of someone doing a digital painting when something clicked in this old scattered brain of mine that maybe, even I needed to check that every once in awhile.
By the way, the grandkids have found out about the book last week, so now I better get it right. Talk about pressure.
Have an imaginative day!
